Written Part of Final Exam

18:25 Jan 28 2010
Times Read: 563

Yesterday we got our written part of our tests back for class. I got an 80% on it. So that with my 100% on my hands on portion still gives me a pretty good grade. I'm so happy.

Final Exam of First Mod (College Class)

06:39 Jan 27 2010
Times Read: 569

I'm just feeling so happy today that I had my final exam for my first mod (month) of my college class of massage therapy and passed the hands on part where we brought in someone we wanted and gave them a full body massage for an hour and got critiqued on our stance/posture while giving it, techniques we learned (from the Western or Swedish massage), as well as our assessment like they would do in a professional setting. I got 100% on it (as did the three other of my classmates, which was the first for our teacher and she was proud of us all). I even put my mother to sleep! Yes! That's the best thing imaginable for a massage therapist (it's a huge compliment if you fall asleep because it means we're doing our job relaxing you. XD). Then we did the written part and I know I missed a few questions but overall I think I did pretty well. But I'm just sooooo happy!

^_^ Oh yeah. I've only just begun. We'll be learning sports massage soon as well as how to work on the elderly so we don't hurt them. Especially those that might be bedridden and can't do a lot of physical movements. And we'll learn salt and sugar scrubs, aromatherapy, reflexology, and some Eastern techniques, as well as a bit more I can't recall at the moment.

Broken Buzzer

13:12 Jan 14 2010
Times Read: 583

So to get into my apartment building, people have to be buzzed in unless we want to go down and open the door ourselves. Well it's now eight in the morning and the buzzer has been going off straight for the past HALF HOUR! Two of my roommates went down to jostle the button outside the building and nothing is working and on-site maintenance won't be here for another TWENTY minutes. Both cats and the dog are going nuts. Talk about a wake up call. We've deduced it to one of two possibilities: there's a short or our ghost woman is seriously having fun pissing us off this morning with a wake-up call. Putting your hands over your ears doesn't help and I know our neighbors can probably hear it and wondering what the hell is going on. It's loud and it's annoying and sounds like one of those tornado sirens when it's left on. It gives a slight fluctuation once in a while so we're still debating but we're about ready to take something heavy and beat the box with it. And there it goes fluctuating again a couple of times. I just hope it'll get fixed very soon because I want to go back to sleep. I'm not a morning person and enjoy sleeping until noon.

Bad Mood

23:27 Jan 10 2010
Times Read: 587

Just having one of those bad moods today. I've been trying to be civil but I'm really getting to a point with a friend about her starting to piss me off lately. She's one of my few friends I really have anymore since graduating that actually talks and hangs out with me (despite the fact that we also are roommates too). But she's been acting a lot like she was back in my senior year of high school and acting cold and distant and like a total bitch.

I've got a few issues with health problems that I've been trying to work with (lot of it is hereditary it seems from my family) and she just doesn't understand how hard it is for me to try to deal with it. I'm hypoglycemic (low sugar for anyone that doesn't know) so if I don't get anything to eat every couple of hours, my sugar drops and I can get really cranky and have a chance to pass out. She gets moody with me telling me I need to find my balance. Honestly, if she knew what it was like to have this, she'd understand. It's also hard for me to workout a lot because of that sugar problem because when I start working out, my sugar drops quickly. So I can't exactly workout for very long (about a good fifteen minutes and I'm done). Also I am trying to lose a bit of weight (which hopefully will help me control my sugar issues) and she doesn't understand how hard it is to get it off. (Those with sugar problems always have a hard time getting it off). And I do have problems with my joints at times, especially when the weather changes (and that's also sad because I'm falling apart before I'm even 25....). I'm sorry I can't just get away with eating one meal a day like she can. Really that's not healthy anyways.

Then she likes to try to tell me about cars and how to work them. Especially how my car works. I know my car. My mom's had it since it was made (2001 Saturn) and I bought it off her. I know how it works and how to handle it and how to drive. I've been driving a lot longer than her (since I was 12 actually since my dad would make me drive the back roads to my brother's little league park in the country so there wasn't really any traffic anyways). She hates the anti-brake lock system and keeps telling me I should pump the brakes. I think I know that. Or how to try to get traction when it's snowy outside or to watch for black ice. I know that too. I don't think she knows much with the shifting to a lower gear to minimize the effect of all the speed and put it to a higher gear as you get traction. *rolls eyes* All her parents have ever driven are those crappy clunker cars that can't go on the highway. Mine can go on the highway just fine. It's been driven across many states of the US we've gone on family trips. It's a very dependable car. But because of her using it so much (as with another roommate/friend) it's gotten so many more miles on it than would normally have on it by now. And I know she wouldn't help paying for repairs and doesn't give a lot of gas money (like my other roommate does help put gas in and such). My mother tells me I should take my spare key back that I've given her for when she needed to use the car, she could. I think I'm about ready to take up on that until my friend learns to respect me a little more. I'll let my other roommate/friend take it though since she does respect me so much more. And she's helped to put in a lot of gas money and doesn't treat my car just as some other car to drive.

*sighs* I guess I'm done ranting for now. Think I'm going to go listen to some music to calm myself down or go cook something and make me feel better. Or maybe clean.
